Romans chapter 3 verses 20 and 21 are a prime example of twisting scripture and bearing false witness against the Apostle Paul by the Christian Church.  In the verses below Paul did not use the article “the” where I underline it, “the” was added and not indicated with italics in our English Bibles:

Romans 3

20 Therefore by the works of The Law there shall no flesh be justified in Yahuah’s sight: for by The Law (ho nomos) is the knowledge of sin. 21 But now the righteousness of God without The Law is manifested.

Christianity teaches, base on these verses, that there is no need to keep The Law of Yahuah.  Yet that can’t be the proper interpretation of that verse because in this same letter Paul said:

Romans 2

13 for not the hearers of The Law are just in the sight of God, but the doers of The Law will be justified and declared righteous

Paul only used the phrase “ho nomos” above in Romans 3:20 when he said “for by The Law is the knowledge of sin”.  The other two places he left out the article “the” and just said “nomos”.  What Paul actually said is:

Romans 3

20 Therefore by works of law (any law whatsoever, tradition, human commands) there shall no flesh be justified in Yahuah’s sight: for it is by THE LAW that we have knowledge of sin (Paul is explaining the function of The Law). 21 But now the righteousness of Yahuah (The Law of Yahuah Romans 7:12) that is separate from (human) law is revealed.

Romans 7:12

Therefore The Law is holy, and the commandments are holy, and just, and righteous.

What Paul was saying in Romans 3 above is that no human law, human command, human tradition whatsoever (nomos) can deliver eternal life.  Eternal life is a function of The Law of Yahuah (ho nomos) which is righteousness and Yahuah forgiving our sin.  Eternal life is not a function of a human law we could obey to justify us.  Justification is in the eyes of Yahuah.  The function of “The Law” is to define righteousness and point out our sin it and through obedience to it we are justified and found righteous.  That is a totally different message than what our faulty translations tell us.

In more than half of the passage in the NT where Paul speaks of “law” he does not use the article “the”.  The phrase “works of law” is vastly different than the phrase “works of THE law”.   Let me put Romans 3 back into context (remember context is a wonderful thing) of the rest of the book of Romans and demonstrate the true meaning:

Romans 3

20 Therefore by works of any human law or tradition whatsoever (nomos) there shall no flesh be justified in Yahuah’s sight: (however it is) for by THE LAW of Yahuah (ho nomos) that we have the knowledge of sin.

Romans 5

20 Moreover The Law (ho nomos) entered (our hearts as Yahuah promised) that the offense (of transgressing it) might abound (in our mind creating a need in us for a savior).

21 But now the righteousness of Yahuah without (any human) law is revealed (in The Law of Yahuah Romans 7:12). (Yahusha) being (the Messiah is) witnessed by The Law and the prophets (Paul is stressing the value of The Law as it gives Yahusha the authority to be The Messiah);  22 Even the righteousness of Yahuah which is by faith in (The Law and the Prophets which witness of) Yahusha the Messiah unto all and upon all them that believe (that Yahusha was the fulfillment of the witness of The Law and The Prophets): for there is no difference: 23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of Yahuah (requiring the blood of the lamb to cover that sin defined in The Law of Yahuah only);  24 Being justified freely by Yahuah’s grace through the redemption that is in the blood of Yahusha the Messiah: 25 Whom Yahuah hath set forth (in The Law not any human law) to be a an appeasing sacrifice through faith in his blood, to declare Yahusha’s righteousness in keeping The Law fully for the remission of our sins that are past, through the forbearance of Yahuah who accepts Yahusha’s obedience as if it were our own; 26 To declare, I say, at this time Yahusha’s righteousness (in keeping The Law): that Yahuah might be just (in declaring us righteous through Yahusha’s sacrifice), and the justifier of him which believeth in Yahusha. 27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded (because Yahuah has accepted Yahusha’s obedience to The Law in place of own). By what (human) law (nomos)? of works? (that we have done can we claim justification) None: but by The Law of faith (in the Passover Lamb our sin is covered and we are justified by The Law). 28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith (that Yahusha fulfilled Yahuah’s promise of a Passover Lamb) without the words of any (human) law (nomos) whatsoever.  29 Is Yahuah the God of the Jews only? is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also: 30 Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith (in Yahusha as The Passover Lamb), and uncircumcision through faith (in Yahusha as The Passover Lamb). 31 Do we then abolish The Law (ho nomos) through faith? God forbid (the Passover Lamb promise is found in The Law, if you abolish The Law you abolish the promise of salvation through the Passover Lamb with it).  The Law of Yahuah is not abolished through faith, The Law (ho nomos) of Yahuah is established through faith (in Yahusha was we then walk as he walked in obedience to The Law).

Paul goes on to teach in that same letter that as we first have faith in the Passover Lamb Yahusha (whereby we are justified by Yahuah) and begin to walk as he walked in obedience to The Law of Yahuah, our obedience to The Law leads to righteousness and sanctification.

Romans 2:13 – Paul declaring obedience to The Law is the definition of Righteousness

13For it is not those who hear The Law who are righteous in Yahuah's sight, but it is those who obey The Law who will be declared righteous.

Romans 6:16

Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin (not keeping The Law) leading to death, or of obedience (to The Law) leading to righteousness?

Romans 6:19

I am speaking in simple terms because of the frailty of your human nature. Just as you once offered the parts of your body as slaves to impurity and to greater and greater disobedience (to The Law), so now, in the same way, you must offer the parts of your body as slaves to righteousness (which is keeping The Law) that leads to sanctification.

When taken in full context what Paul is teaching in Romans is this:  We first have faith in The Law that Yahusha was the fulfillment of Passover.  Expressing that faith in Passover is the equivalent of pouring the blood of the lamb over the Altar of our hearts and Yahuah accept that sacrifice of Yahusha and forgives our sin.  That is a FREE GIFT.  Then we begin the process of sanctification which is a process of becoming “holy” and set apart by Yahuah through obedience to His Law.

That process is a function of obedience to The Law of Yahuah (not any human law or custom or tradition) as we are filled with the Spirit of loving obedience and The Law is written on our hearts:

Ezekiel 36: 26,27

I will give you a new heart (for my Law and write my Law on it) and put a new spirit (of loving obedience) in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone (legalistic observance of The Law without love) and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.

The process of sanctification through obedience to The Law leads to righteousness.

The issue of adding “the/ho” to “law/nomos” is just one example of how mistranslating our English Bibles leads to confusion and false doctrines.  I highly recommend the reader immediately go out and purchase one of the recent translations that recognize these translation errors.  I use The Book of Yahuah translation so that I don’t have to constantly guard against these misleading uninspired modern English Bibles that are complicit in the Spirit of the Antichrist.

Paul’s attitude toward The Law is made crystal clear in the book of Romans.  It is only by taking sound bite after sound bit out of context and twisting scripture that it can be said of Paul that we don’t have to keep The Law.  Below are clear statements made by Paul in Romans confirming The Law in The Yahushaic Covenant:

Paul says that the doers of The Law will be justified and those who break it will be judged. The word that is translated below "without Law" here is Strong’s word #460 which means "not amenable to the Jewish/Mosaic Law". (See Thayers and Strong's lexicon).

Romans 2:12

For as many as have sinned without law (nomos) will also perish without law (nomos) (because only in The Law of Yahuah is salvation promised), and as many as have sinned under The Law (ho nomos) will be judged by The Law (ho nomos) 13 for not the hearers of The Law (ho nomos) are just in the sight of Yahuah, but the doers of The Law (ho nomos) will be justified;

Paul says that we know His will and approve the things that are excellent when instructed out of The Law.

Romans 2:17

Indeed you are called a Jew, and rest on the Law, and make your boast in Yahuah, 18 and know [His] will, and approve the things that are excellent, being instructed out of the Law, 19 and are confident that you yourself are a guide to the blind, a light to those who are in darkness, 20 an instructor of the foolish, a teacher of babes, having the form of knowledge and truth in the Law.

Here he says that when we break the Law, we dishonor Yahuah and blaspheme His name.

Romans 2:21

You, therefore, who teach another (The Law), do you not teach (that same Law of Yahuah to) yourself? You who preach that a man should not steal, do you steal? 22 You who say, "Do not commit adultery," do you commit adultery? You who abhor idols, do you rob temples? 23 You who make your boast in the Law, do you dishonor Yahuah through breaking the Law? 24 For "the name of Yahuah is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you," as it is written.

Here Paul twice states that we learn what sin is from the Law. This backs up the statement in 1John 3:4 that Sin is transgression of the Law.

Romans 3:20

Therefore by the deeds of The Law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by The Law [is] the knowledge of sin.

Romans 7:7

What shall we say then? [Is] The Law sin? Certainly not! On the contrary, I would not have known sin except through the Law. For I would not have known covetousness unless The Law had said, "You shall not covet.

Here is a key scripture proving that Paul believed that thru faith we do not make The Law void, but rather we establish (Strong’s #2476: To cause or make to stand) the Law.

Romans 3:31

Do we then make void The Law through faith? Certainly not! On the contrary, we cause and make stand, we establish the Law.

Here is another key scripture like the one above proving that Paul did not believe that once we are under grace, that we can continue to sin (break the Law):

Romans 6:15

What then? Shall we sin (break The Law) because we are not under (the death decrees of the) Law but under grace (because the decrees have been covered by the blood of the Lamb)? Certainly not! 16 Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one's slaves whom you obey, whether of sin (breaking The Law leading) to death, or of obedience (to The Law leading) to righteousness?

Paul then teaches an analogy in Romans 1 of a woman who is married and is released from the law of marriage if her husband dies.  Many use Romans 7 to justify that we are no longer "under The Law".  Let me correct Romans 7. Below is the proper meaning and translation... the first 3 verses are OK.  Let's begin with what Paul meant with this analogy:

Romans 7

4 In the same way, my brothers, throuth the body of The Messiah (through the Yahushaic Covenant), you were buried through Mikveh (batpism) into newness of life in The Law (the Law is written on your heart Heb. 10:16 and your heart circumcised Romans 2:29 as your commitment to keep The Law.  The Law now become The Law of the Spirit of loving ovedience that leads to eternal life Romans 8:2 as the death decrees are covered and we are brought to perfect obedience Col. 2:14), that you might belong (in covenant) to a different one (The Yahushaic Covenant where the death decrees are covered as apposed to the Abrahamic Covenant with active death decrees), to him (Yahusha) who was raised from the dead that you might bear (spiritual) fruit to Yahuah (by keeping the intent behind the letter of The Law Romans 2:13 as The Law was transposed from written in stone to written on our hearts and defines The Renewed Covenant Jeremiah 31:33). 5 For when we were in the flesh (in the Abrahamic Covenant before being Mikveh'd into The Yahushaic Covenant); our mere physical lives (without The Spirit of Holiness that teach us to keep His Law and obey His commandment Ezekiel 36:24-32), the longing to transgress The Law which is to be kept, did contstantly work in our members, that we might bear fruit unto death (becuase outside of The Yahushaic Covenant the death decrees in The Law still demand our death). 6 But we are now (within The Yahushaic Covenantfreed from the death decrees in The Law (Col. 2:14 being covered by the blood of the lamb) in which we were held fast (in bondage to sin Gal. 4:3 and in fear of death Heb. 2:15); that we might serve in the newness of The Spirit of Life (which is per ), not abolishing that which was writtein in the Law and Prophets.

Then Paul goes on to say "The Law is how we identify sin in our lives" and "The Law is holy and the commandments are holy and just and righteous".  Paul makes it clear The Law is spiritual but we were sold in bondage to sin and the fear of death by decree.  Those decrees were covered by the blood of the Lamb and by our Mikveh into the Yahushaic Covenant we are not longer bound by the death decree we now belong in another covenant The Yahushaic Covenant where no longer live by the "law of sin and therefore you die" we now live according to The Law of obedience through the Spirit of Love that leads to eternal life.. we have been given a loving heart towards His Law...

Jeremiah 31

33“This is the covenant I will make with the people of Israel after that time,” declares the Lord. “I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.

Ezekiel 36

24“ ‘For I will take you out of the nations; I will gather you from all the countries and bring you back into your own land.  25I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you (through Mikveh) from all your impurities and from all your idols.  26I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.  27And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.

Never forget, this is a letter to the GREEK Romans... and we know what they did... they twisted the words of Paul and used Paul's writing to justify abolishing The Law to their own destruction:

2 Peter 3

15 Bear in mind that our Messiah's patience means salvation, just as our dear brother Paul also wrote you with the wisdom that Yahuah gave him. 16 He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters (how the death decrees in The Law were nailed to the cross not The Law and how The Law is spiritually discerned, holy, and righteous and the Spirit of Holiness teaches us to keep His Law and obey His commandments as The Law is now written on our hearts i.e. we have a loving heart for His Law transforming The Law to The Law of the Spirit of Life not death by decree). His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people (the Greeks see Romans 1:18-24 as Paul called out these Greeks in Rome) distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction. 17 Therefore, dear friends, since you have been forewarned, be on your guard (against these faulty translations and don't fall for sound bite doctrine but shed the light of His Word on every scripture and put every scripture IN CONTEXT) so that you may not be carried away by the error of the lawless (abolishing The Law) and fall from your secure position (of Grace i.e. the death decrees covered as you obey The Law out of a loving heart).

1 Corinthians 1:23

but we preach the Passover Lamb sacrifice of The Messiah: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Greeks

This is where we get these modern English translations!  From Greeks who twised the words of Paul and had no idea what he was talking about and the meaning of Passover and the transposition of The Law.  The Greeks were lawless and wanted to justify that lifestyle.

Here Paul is equating "the Law" with "the commandment" and stating his opinion of them:

Romans 7:12

Therefore The Law [is] holy, and the commandment holy and just and righteous.

Here is an unpopular statement of Paul's. Many like to believe that The Law is of the flesh and is enmity toward Yahuah.  Paul again makes it clear that The Law is not the enmity… our sinful flesh is what is hostile to Yahuah.

Romans 7:14

For we know that The Law is spiritual, but I am carnal, sold under sin.

Paul delights in The Law of Yahuah

Romans 7:22

For I delight in The Law of Yahuah according to the inward man.

The Apostle Paul was a devout follower of The Torah.  Speaking of The Torah and Prophets (there was no New Testament when Paul wrote this):

2 Timothy 3:16

All Scripture [is] given by inspiration of Yahuah, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,17 that the man of Yahuah may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Romans 8:6-7

For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded (The Law is Spiritual Romans 7:14) is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against Yahuah; for it is not subject to The Law of Yahuah, nor indeed can be.

It should be obvious by now in this book series that the Apostle Paul taught keeping The Law is the path to justification and righteousness.  I shouldn’t have to go in and retranslate and show the true meaning of the entire New Testament writings of Paul to demonstrate that the Greek appropriate Pauline Christian Doctrine is a totally false doctrine.  The Apostle Paul did not start a new religion.  When each of the sound bite implied doctrines of Christianity are brought into context; Paul can be brought into agreement with every other writer in the New Testament.  Paul is also in agreement with Yahuah and Yahusha concerning the role of The Law in our lives and within The Yahushaic Covenant.

The purpose of this section was to quickly illustrate that Paul’s writings have been altered, twisted, words added and then mis-taught by Christianity.  The Christian Pauline Doctrine is false and not what the Apostle Paul taught or believed.

The purpose of this chapter is to try and help define The Law as it has been transposed to Spiritual Intent.  Let’s get back to the main idea of this chapter so that this book stays on point and does not become so large and complex that the reader (and the writer) loses focus.

I have given the reader the keys to understanding Paul’s writings and each of us should do our own independent study with these keys in mind.  Paul confronted Rabbinical Judaism just like Yahusha.  Both Paul and Yahusha confronted Rabbinical Law called Takkanots as the Jews were following The 6,200 page Talmud full of human commands and traditions of men.  The use of “ho nomos” for The Law and “nomos” for the “law of the land” which was The Talmud.  Both Yahusha and Paul were Notsris or Nazarenes and protected The Torah of Yahuah and defended it against the Babylonian Talmud.  The fact is that Paul, like Yahusha, taught the transposition of The Law.
