The
Way… the Fundamental Doctrine
of Our Faith
Mikveh, Circumcision, and Offering see The Narrow Gate
In the last chapter, Sha’ul defined the role Yahusha performs as
High Priest from the House of Zadok. He stresses the fact that
Yahusha must sacrifice for his own sin as well as the people. Then
makes the point that there is much more to say on this, but the
people no longer will listen to the Truth. Sha’ul ends that chapter
with Sha’ul chastising our so-called teachers for needing to relay
their foundation in the basic principles concerning Yahusha.
Hebrews Chapter 6 continues the thought of Chapter 5 as Sha’ul lays
out the “fundamental doctrines about the Messiah”. He declares it so
important, that if we do not lay this foundation in Truth concerning
Yahusha we will not be allowed to move on to more mature doctrines.
Yahuah Himself will “cut us off” from the deeper things. What Sha’ul
lays out is called The Way. It is the most fundamental doctrine in
The Yahushaic Covenant.
Below is what Sha’ul wrote concerning the elementary teaching about Yahusha's
example (as he walked The Way) and what it meant:
In vs. 2 he mentions "Instructions" which in Hebrew is the word
"Torah" concerning "cleansing rites" which is Mikveh. Let me restate
more clearly below how Hebrews 6 should read; remember Sha’ul was a
Nazarene, keeper of The Torah:
Hebrews 6
1 Therefore
let us move forward and mature in our understanding about the things
concerning (the example of) Yahusha
(which is The Way), not laying
again (having to relearn over and over) the
basic teaching about Yahusha (everything
mentioned below is talking “about Yahusha” the basic things his life
example should reveal to us):
· About
Yahusha's… foundation of repentance from acts that lead to
death (Circumcision
of Heart, Yahusha cried out with “loud cries and tear” for
forgiveness Hebrews 5:7, he was forgiven Zechariah 3:4)
· and
of Yahusha's… faith in Yahuah (to
wipe away his sin through Mikveh as we see in Zechariah Chapter 3)
· 2 About
Yahusha's… obedience to the "instructions" about "cleansing
rites" (Mikveh
i.e. we must know Torah requirements concerning Mikveh to know the
significance of what was happening to Yahusha)
· About
Yahusha's… anointing as Passover Lamb and High priest i.e. the (Torah
requirements) of the laying on of hands (at
Yahusha's Mikveh, the ritual to transfer Priestly Authority and pass
the sins of the world on to Yahusha as The Passover Lamb)
· About
Yahusha's… resurrection from the dead by Yahuah, begotten
Eternal by the Ruach; Who heard his cries because of his piety in
life (Hebrews 5:7)
· About
Yahusha's… role as King of Kings to reign as Eternal Judge
over the House of Yahuah (Zechariah 3:7)
3 And
Yahuah will only permit us to move on to maturity (concerning
Yahusha) once we lay this Foundation
firmly.
With that vital understanding, let us continue
with Chapter 6 and “press on to maturity”!
1 Therefore (continuing
the thought that we need develop teeth for ‘solid food’) let us
move beyond the elementary teachings about The Messiah and press
on to maturity, not laying again (now Sha’ul
lists the ‘elementary teaching’ about Yahusha) the foundation of
repentance from acts that lead to death (CIRCUMCISION
of Heart - Yahusha cried out with “loud cries and tear” for forgiveness
Hebrews 5:7, he was forgiven Zechariah 3:4), and of faith in
Yahuah (to remove our iniquity, and remember
our sin no more as Promised in Jeremiah 31, Zechariah 3:9), 2
instruction (Torah) about ritual
cleansing rites (MIKVEH),
(and Torah Requirements concerning) the
laying on of hands (OFFERING
- to transfer the sins onto the
scapegoat and anoint High Priests to make the offering of the Passover
Lamb), the resurrection of the dead (adoption
as an Eternal Son of Yahuah), and eternal judgment (Yahusha’s
role as Judge - Zechariah 3:7). 3 And Yahuah permitting us to
mature, we will then move on to advance teachings (deeper
mysterious things – 1 Corinthians 2:4-15, 1 Timothy 3:9, Deuteronomy
29:9).

The Mystery Language of Hidden Things
See The Yahushaic
Covenant
1 Corinthians 2:4-15
4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of
man's wisdom, but in the demonstration of the Spirit of Holiness and
of power (which
gives us understanding of hidden things):
5 That your faith should not stand in the (literal)
wisdom of men (to
be taken literally),
but in the power of Yahuah (In
a Mystery Language taught only by MATURE by the Spirit of Holiness a
chosen few).
6 However we (Yahuah’s Chosen
Few)
speak wisdom (Spiritual
Understanding)
among them that are perfected (by
The Spirit of Holiness):
yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world,
that come to nothing:
7 But we speak the wisdom of
Yahuah in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which Yahuah
ordained before the world unto our glory (written
in the stars - Psalm 19, Enoch 35:3):
8 Which none of the princes of this world knew (that
Yahusha was portrayed as crucified in The Heavenly Scroll before the
foundation of the world):
for had they known it, they would not have crucified the King of
glory (because
that is the reason he came to fulfill The Heavenly Scroll - Hebrews
10:7, Matthew 6:10).
9 But as it is written, (the
natural)
EYE (does
not see Spiritual Truths and)
hath not seen (the
hidden mysteries),
nor (the
natural)
EAR heard (the
Spiritual Truth),
neither have (these
mysteries)
entered into the (natural)
HEART of (natural)
man (humanity
has been given over to a Spirit of Error and the mind has been
depraved of Spiritual understanding Romans 1),
the things which Yahuah hath prepared for them that love Him.
10 But Yahuah hath revealed them (the
secret mysteries and hidden knowledge)
unto us by His Spirit of Truth: for the (HOLY)
Spirit searches all things, yes, and the deep (hidden
/ mysterious)
things of Yahuah (Deuteronomy
29:29).
11 For what man knows the things of a (natural)
man, save the (natural
/ human)
spirit of man which is in him? Even so the things of Yahuah knows no
man, but the (HOLY)
Spirit of Yahuah (reveals
this hidden language to them).
12 Now we (The
Chosen Few / Righteousness Seekers)
have received, not the (human
nature / natural)
spirit of the world, but the (HOLY)
spirit which is of Yahuah; that we might know (these
hidden mysteries)
the things that are freely given to us of (by)
Yahuah. 13 Which (Mysterious
/ Secret)
things, also, we speak, not in the (literal)
words which man's wisdom teaches, but which the Holy SPIRIT teaches;
comparing spiritual things with spiritual (physical
to Spiritual Parallels / Parables/ metaphors, allegories/ Idioms,
anthropomorphisms, poems, prophetic languages, proverbs, etc.).
14 But the natural man receives not the (hidden/mysterious)
things of the (HOLY)
Spirit of Yahuah: for they (the
hidden mysteries)
are foolishness unto him (1
Corinthians 1:23):
neither can he know them (these
hidden mysteries),
because they (the
hidden mysteries of Yahuah)
are (HOLY)
spiritually discerned (through
the Mystery Language).
1 Timothy 3:9
9 Holding the mystery (hidden
or secret things: G3466)
of the faith in a pure conscience.
Deuteronomy 29
29 The secret
things belong unto Yahuah our God: but those (physical)
things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for
ever, that we may do all the words (letters)
of this law.
---------------------- COMMENTARY & CONTEXT ----------------------
Having just stated that we need to move
forward to maturity, not backward, Sha’ul addresses the concept of
“fruit” that we should bear. Most read verses 4-6 to mean you can
lose your salvation. However, a little context goes a long way.
Sha’ul puts this entire conversation into context in verse 7—8 as
speaking of our fruit, not our salvation. In verse 9 Sha’ul makes it
clear he is talking about things (fruit) that ACCOMPANY
salvation not salvation itself.
In context of all Sha’ul’s
writings, we see that the gifts and calling of Yahuah are
irrevocable (Romans 11:29)
Romans 11:29
for the gifts and the calling of Yahuah
are irrevocable (cannot be withdrawn).
and that we are predestined for glory (Romans 8:30) and that
salvation is a 100% work of Yahuah.
Romans 8:30
And those
He predestined, He also called; those He
called, He also justified; those He
justified, He also glorified.
Sha’ul also
stated that our High Priest is the forerunner (forefather of
everlasting life) and the author and finisher of our faith.
Hebrews 12:2
fixing our eyes on Yahusha, the
pioneer and perfecter of faith (as High
Priest). For the joy set before him (written
in The Heavenly Scroll) he endured the cross (to
fulfill it), scorning its shame, and sat down at the right
hand (as King over the Kingdom) of
the throne of Yahuah (the Throne of
Creation).
Sha’ul also stated that it is Yahusha’s
role as High Priest to sympathize and atone for those children in
the faith who fall-away.
Hebrews 5
2 Because he is threatened persistently with weakness himself,
he can deal gently with those less knowledgeable and those who have
lost their way.
What Sha’ul is explaining in verses 4-9 is
that we must press on to maturity because as “children” we may not
be strong enough and will fall away at times. This will destroy our
witness in front of others, and we will be powerless to restore our
witness in their eyes. It has nothing to do with “losing your
salvation” … That is a threat used by the False Religion much like
“burning in hell for eternity”.
Those who have been
born-again by the Spirit of Holiness are given a GUARANTEE by Yahuah
they will be risen from the dead. The Spirit is Yahuah’s unbreakable
oath that they are saved (verses 11-20). Their Spirits are revived
eternal, and they cannot be “lost” at that point. But they can
destroy their witness and their “fruit” will be thorns and burned as
“wood, hay, and stubble” (1 Corinthians 3:12).
4
For in the case of those
who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift (which
is irrevocable - Romans 11:29) , and have shared in the Spirit of
Holiness (which is a GUARANTEE we will be
risen - Ephesians
1:14, 2 Corinthians 1:22),
5 and have tasted the goodness of the word of Yahuah
and the powers of the Age of Aquarius to come, 6 and
then have fallen away (Yahusha as High Priest
atones for those who have been born-again and fall away Hebrews 5:2),
to restore them again to repentance (in the
eyes of others), since they are crucifying once again the Son of
God to their own harm and holding him up to contempt (in
the eyes of those who know them, i.e. their witness is worthless and
once lost impossible to get back).
7
For land that has drunk the rain that often falls on it and produces a
crop useful to those for whose sake it is cultivated, receives a
blessing from Yahuah. 8 But if it bears thorns and thistles,
it is worthless and near to being cursed, and its end is to be burned.
9
Though we speak in this way of things that accompany salvation (fruit,
not salvation), beloved, we feel sure of better things in your
case. 10 For Yahuah is not unjust so as to overlook your work
and the love that you have shown for His name in serving the saints, as
you still do.
11
And we desire each one of you to show the same earnestness to have the
full assurance of hope until the end of your lives, 12
do not be sluggish (and fall back) but
imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises (which
are irrevocable Romans 11:29).
13
For when Yahuah made a promise to Abraham He swore by His Own Name,
since he had no one greater by whom to swear, 14 saying, “Surely
I will bless you and multiply you.” 15 And thus
Abraham obtained the promise having patiently waited. 16 For
people swear by something greater than themselves, and in all their
disputes an oath is final for confirmation. 17 So when Yahuah
desired to show more convincingly to the heirs of the promise the
unchangeable character of His purpose (to
raise us from the dead), He guaranteed it with an oath (by
giving us His Spirit to guarantee it), 18 so that by
two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for Yahuah to lie, we
who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to hold fast to
the hope set before us. 19 We have this as a sure and
steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place
behind the curtain, 20 where Yahusha has gone as a forerunner
on our behalf (to serve at the Altar of Yahuah),
having become a high priest forever (promise
to the House of Zadok Numbers 25:13), a ruler after the Order of
The House of Zadok (Melchizedek).
