1 Let every person be subject to the
governing authorities (g1849
– exousia “authority Yahuah gives His Saints”) in the assembly of
the Saints (Romans 12:8).
Romans 12:8
8 He
who exhorts, to exhortation; he who gives, give freely; he who
rules, with diligence;
he who makes supplication and prayer on behalf of others, with
promptness and readiness of mind--all in conformity with the
faith.
For there is no authority in His Kingdom except
from Yahuah, and the authorities (g1849
– exousia “authority Yahuah gives His Saints”) that exist are
ordained by Yahuah.
2 Therefore, whoever resists the
authority (established in the assembly),
resists the ordinance of Yahuah; and those who resist will receive
damnation to themselves (this is NOT talking
about secular governments, they are not ordained by Yahuah and abuse
their subjects, steal resources, and impoverish the people with
exorbitant taxes). 3 For rulers in the assembly (Romans
12:8) are not a terror to righteous works, but to evil (unrighteousness).
Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Then do what is righteous,
and you will have praise from the authorities in the Assembly. 4
For the established authority is the minister of Yahuah to you for
righteousness. But if you do that which is evil--be afraid! For
he does not carry the sword for nothing.
For he is the minister of Yahuah,
an avenger to execute wrath upon him who does evil. 5
Therefore, you must be subject, not only because of wrath, but also for
conscience' sake. 6 This is also why you pay tribute; tithes
and offerings (as a sign of respect to
Yahuah’s authority in the assembly over us. This is their way of making
a living),
for the authorities are Yahuah’s ministers
who give their full time to governing (this
is the purpose of the “tribute” we pay to His Teachers, Ministers, etc.
whom Yahuah has established over us. It was mistranslated as “tax” by
Rome for obvious reasons).
7 Therefore, render to all men their
dues: tribute to whom tribute is due (to
Yahuah’s chosen who serve you), revenue to whom revenue is due (your
employees), reverence to Whom reverence (Yahuah),
honor to whom honor (Yahusha).
8 Owe no man anything, except to love
one another, for he who loves another has performed the intent of The
Law. 9 For the commandments: You shall not commit adultery,
You shall not murder, You shall not steal, You shall not bring false
testimony, You shall not covet, and all other commandments are briefly
summed up in these Laws; namely: You must love your neighbor as
yourself. 10 Love works no harm to his neighbor: therefore,
love results from performing of the Law.
11 And do this, understanding the
present time. The hour has come for you to wake up from your slumber,
because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. 12
The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us throw off
the works of darkness and put on the armor of light. 13 Let
us walk properly, as in the daytime, not in revelry and drunkenness, not
in sexual impurity and debauchery, not in strife and envy. 14
Rather, humble yourself to our ultimate Ruler, Yahusha Messiah, and put
a stop to providing for the lusts of the flesh.
