Chapter 3

Grace, Liberty, and The Law

The Yahushaic Covenant is where The Law was made perfect, and the Mystery Language was given to those chosen by Yahuah. Let us examine The Law in the context of the ‘hidden things’ of Yahuah. The Law was weakened in its ability to deliver Eternal life, which is the Promise Yahuah made to those who perfectly Obey The Law. It is not that The Law is imperfect; it is that we are not perfect and our fleshly desires were the weak link in the ability of The Law to sanctify us in Holiness; which leads to Yahuah fulfilling His Promise and granting Eternal life.

Psalm 19:7
The Law of Yahuah is perfect, refreshing the soul. The statutes of Yahuah are trustworthy, making wise the simple.

 

Romans 7:12
Therefore The Law is Holy, and the Commandments are Holy, and Just, and Righteous.

 

Romans 8
1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in The Yahushaic Covenant (because for those who keep Passover in light of Yahusha; the decrees that condemn us are covered), who do not walk according to the flesh (transgressing His Law with enmity toward The Law), but according to the Spirit (of Holiness which teaches us how to obey the Spirit of The Law in love, Ezekiel 36:26). 2 For The Law of the Spirit of life (The Law with the death decrees covered) in The Yahushaic Covenant has made me free from The Law of Sin and Death (The Law with active decrees condemning us to death). 3 For what The Law could not do (deliver Eternal life as Promised because we are weak and violate it) in that The Law was weak through the flesh, Yahuah did (provided Eternal life) by sending His own Son as a human, on account of sin (it took a human with the genetic code of death to die innocent to break the power of death in the body): Yahusha condemned (the genetic code of) sin in the flesh (and removed the enmity in us toward His Law, caused by our fear of the death decrees, Hebrews 2:15), 4 that the Righteous requirement of The Law might be fulfilled in us (through Mikveh, as we are brought into perfect Obedience and our sin forgiven by Grace which is the covering of the Death Decrees or “Certificate of Debt”, Colossians 2) who do not walk according to the flesh (do not have enmity or hatred toward His Law, Romans 8:7) but according to the Spirit (of Holiness in loving Obedience to The Intent of The Law, Ezekiel 36:26). 7 because the (carnal) mind set on the flesh is hostile (enmity) toward Yahuah; for it does not subject itself to The Law of Yahuah, for it is not even able to do so, 8 and those who are in the flesh (do not keep The Law) cannot please Yahuah.

The Law exposes our own weakness and sin, thereby creating a need for a sacrifice to Yahuah to make up for our transgressions of His Law.

Romans 5:18-21

18 Therefore, as through one man’s offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one man’s (not God’s) Righteous act (of giving his life to save his brothers, John 15:13) the free gift (of Grace from Yahuah) came to all men, resulting in justification of life (through loving Obedience to The Law) and Righteousness before Yahuah.

 

Romans 6:16

Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to Obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you Obey, whether of sin (not keeping The Law) leading to death (The Law of Sin and Death), or of obedience (to The Law) leading to Righteousness (The Law of the Spirit of Life)?

 

Romans 6:19
I am speaking in simple terms because of the frailty of your human nature. Just as you once offered the parts of your body as slaves to impurity and to greater and greater disobedience (to The Law), so now, in the same way, you must offer the parts of your body as slaves to Righteousness (which is keeping The Law) that leads to Sanctification (we are Sanctified by The Law).

 

Continuing with Romans 5…

19 For as by one man’s disobedience (to The Law) many were made sinners, so also by one man’s (not ‘God’s’) Obedience (to The Law, it took A MAN not ‘God’ to break the chains of death) many will be made Righteous (in the eyes of Yahuah). 20 Moreover The Law entered (our hearts and minds) that the offense (of our transgressing it) might abound (in us creating in us a need for a savoir). But where sin abounded (due to our transgressing His Laws), grace abounded much more (as the blood of the Lamb covers every Death Decree against us within The Law), 21 so that as sin reigned in (the) death (of our bodies genetically), even so grace (the forgiveness of the Death Decrees against us) might reign (in The Law) through Righteousness (our loving obedience to The Law) to (deliver the Promise of) Eternal life through The Yahushaic Covenant (Faith in Yahusha as the prophesied Messiah).

That sacrifice was foretold by Yahuah, written in the stars at creation as a Lamb that would be slaughtered before the world was, through prophesies, and physical shadow events and annual rehearsals. The sacrifice that covers our transgression is The Passover Lamb NOT The Ishtar (Easter) Pig!  Yahuah promised to send a human Messiah (Anointed King of Israel) who would restore the High Priesthood of Zadok, he would be known as Melchi Tzedek which means ‘Ruling Zadok Priest’. The Messiah was prophesied to be a Righteous Priest/King. This High Priest was foretold by Moses as the one human PROPHET (of Yahuah not God in the flesh) who would properly teach The Law and fulfill The Law. In that way (by walking in total Obedience to the Torah or Word of Yahuah as High Priest see Zechariah Chapter 3, where Yahusha and Yahuah entered into covenant) the Messiah would be qualified to offer atonement and Yahuah would therefore forgive the sin of all the sons of Yahuah in one (1) day.

John 5:46
46 If you believed Moses, you would believe me, for he wrote about me…

 

Deuteronomy 18:15-19
15 Yahuah your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from among you, from your fellow Israelites. You must listen to him. …  17 Yahuah said to me: “What they say is good. 18 I will raise up for them a Prophet like you from among their fellow Israelites, and I will put My Words in his mouth. He will tell them everything I Command him. 19 I Myself will call to account anyone who does not listen to My Words that the Prophet speaks in My Name. (I suggest we follow Yahusha’s example in keeping the Torah!)

As High Priest, the Messiah would offer up his own perfected (through suffering) body as the final Passover Sacrifice, to cover the transgressions (Death Decrees or pay the “Certificate of Debt”, Colossians 2) for all the past and future sons of Yahuah. The Apostle Sha’ul does a masterful job below, explaining this and defining “Grace”; which is forgiveness of sin (breaking The Law of Yahuah):

Colossians 2
10 and in (covenant with) Him (Yahusha) you have been made (through Mikveh just like Yahusha was made perfect Hebrews 5:8-9) complete (in Obedience to The Law)… 13 When you were dead in your transgressions (held captive to the Death Decrees) and the uncircumcision of your flesh (had enmity toward The Law in your heart), He (Yahuah) made you (through Mikveh) alive together with Him (Yahusha), having forgiven us all our transgressions (of The Law by covering the Death Decrees), 14 having canceled out the ‘certificate of debt’ consisting of Decrees against us (the Death Decrees in The Law amounted to a ‘Certificate of Debt’ levied against us that had to be paid), which (the ‘Certificate of Debt’ consisting of Death Decrees) was hostile to us (demanded our death); and He (Yahusha) has taken it (the ‘Certificate of Debt’ against us that we owe Yahuah for violating His Law) out of the way, having nailed it (the ‘Certificate of Debt’, NOT The Law) to the cross.

Putting Colossians back into context is a wonderful thing. This prophesied Messiah was Yahusha, not the Greek demi-god “Christos Iesous”. Yahusha was born fully human in every way and chosen by Yahuah to serve as the Eternal High Priest and mediator/signatory of a New Covenant.

Hebrews 2:17
For this reason he had to be made like them, fully human in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and Faithful High Priest in service to Yahuah (he is not Yahuah), and that he might make Atonement for the sins of the people (he is the sin offering Romans 8:3, to Yahuah who is God).

 

Romans 8:3 – NASB
3 For what The Law could not do (deliver Eternal Life as Promised), because it was made weak through our flesh, Yahuah did: sending His Own Son Yahusha in the likeness of sinful flesh and as an Offering for sin to Yahuah, Yahusha condemned sin in the flesh (by being perfected and dying innocent in the eyes of Yahuah).

 

John 17:3 3 

Now this is Eternal life: that they know you (Yahuah), the Only True God, and (come to You through) Yahusha who is the Messiah, whom You have sent (in fulfillment of Your Promises as foretold through the Prophets to be the Mediator).

 

1 Timothy 2:5
For there is One God (Yahuah) and one Mediator between Yahuah and mankind, the man Yahusha the Messiah

Having been born human, Yahusha inherited death in his body’s genetic code (death is passed on not sin; Original Sin is yet another false doctrine).

Yahusha had to die in his fleshly body, to put to death ‘sin’, as death is the penalty of sin. Having died innocent Yahusha broke The Law of Sin and Death and defeated death through the resurrection. The chains of Death cannot hold an innocent man because the death sentence is the decree of Yahuah. Yahuah did not issue the final Death Decree for Yahusha, because he had not sinned (‘after’ being cleansed through Mikveh and anointed High Priest); through the Power of Holiness (Yahusha was deemed Holy by his keeping of The Intent of the Law) Yahuah raised Yahusha from the grave. Yahusha defeated death, because death is the penalty of sin and there were NO outstanding “Death Decrees” issued against Yahusha by Yahuah because Yahusha was innocent in the eyes of Yahuah at his death. So the sentence of death (he must suffer in the flesh because he inherited death in his genetic code) was not justified. Yahuah then raised Yahusha from the dead and gave Yahusha an Eternal body!

Yahusha was then seated at Yahuah’s right hand as King over The Kingdom of Yahuah and High Priest before Yahuah to serve all His sons. Yahusha is like a “Lamb to the slaughter” before the Throne of Yahuah (as foretold in The Heavenly Scroll) and makes the daily sacrifices and oblations defined by The Law. The sacrifices Yahusha makes as Eternal High Priest are made for those who obey The Law of Yahuah, enter into covenant with Yahusha, and keep Passover in light of his sacrifice.

The blood of Yahusha the Passover Lamb is then poured out over the Altar of Yahuah, in the hearts and minds of the true believer, covering the Death Decrees in The Law. In the process, removing the weakness (our transgressions) and making whole The Law. This is called Grace which is a ‘free gift’ of Yahuah through Yahusha to His sons.

Ephesians 2:8 – NLT
Yahuah saved you by His Grace when you believed (and kept Passover in light of Yahusha’s sacrifice). And you can't take credit for this; it is a ‘gift’ from Yahuah (the Death Decrees have been covered for those who believe in and keep Passover in light of Yahusha).

 

Romans 5:15 – NLT
But there is a great difference between Adam's sin and Yahuah's gracious gift. For the sin of this one man, Adam, brought death to many. But even greater is Yahuah's wonderful Grace and His Gift of Forgiveness (of the Death Decrees by covering them with the blood of the Passover Lamb) to many through this other man, Yahusha the Messiah.

With the Decrees covered, the sons of Yahuah are found in perfect Obedience to The Law and will die innocent in the eyes of Yahuah as well. Yahuah will not issue the Death Decrees against His sons; those who abide in The Yahushaic Covenant. Yahuah will (through His Spirit of Holiness) pronounce us in full compliance with His Law (through the blood that covers our transgressions) and He will raise us from the dead as well. We will not be judged by The Law but we will be “passed over” by the Second Death and live Eternally as His sons.

 

The Transposed from stone to our heart

The Law of Yahuah has been transposed from written in stone (where sin was defined as the physical act) to written on our hearts (where sin is identified by the attitude of your heart); which is the source of the physical act. The Law was strengthened not abolished.

 

The Law fulfilled with Liberty

The Law is now complete but with the understanding of the Spiritual Intent of the Commandments comes Liberty. Liberty is not a blanket that uniformly covers every believer. Liberty is a personal gift given to each son of Yahuah and is personal between them given to those endeavors to keep the letter to discern Intent. Liberty is given based on maturity. Each believer grows in Wisdom, Knowledge and Understanding and Yahuah perfects each son through discipline. This process is called Sanctification. The same way we, as humans, raise our children. We impose all kinds of restrictions and left them overtime as they mature because they can then be trusted and know the ‘Intent’ of our restrictions.

I struggled in how I was going to handle The Law of Yahuah in this book. I considered listing each of The Laws and explain each one of them in the context of Spiritual Intent. This is not something Yahusha was willing to do, as he only gave us a few examples of the Ten Commandments, and how they are to be applied with the proper attitude of heart. He left it up to each individual to study The Law of Yahuah, and discern Spiritual Intent from the letter of The Law. This is an important personal journey we each must take in the process of Sanctification. The Spirit of Holiness is the guide for each one of us and the application and Liberty is different for each person.

For that reason, I have decided against breaking down all The Laws, because the Liberty that ‘I’ have been given by Yahuah (according to my maturity as His son) is not the same for anyone else; it is for me alone. I run the risk of causing my brother to stumble, because my brother may not understand the things I understand and break a Commandment of Yahuah following ‘my’ example without having the proper understanding and Liberty. I then would bear the responsibility of their sin; something I am unwilling to do.

 

The Law made complete in Grace

What I am going to do in this book, is fully define Grace, in light of The Law, as Grace doesn’t replace The Law it fulfills it. I am going to discuss the concept of Liberty (without disclosing my own rights given me in my unique role to serve Yahuah). I am then going to group the Laws into categories and explain those general categories. I am also going to address the false Pauline Doctrine of the Christian Church. I will explain Sha’ul’s writing in context. I will demonstrate that the Apostle Sha’ul is a Righteous teacher of The Law, not a false teacher as he is portrayed by Christianity. The way Sha’ul is taught in Christianity, he contradicts Yahuah and Yahusha concerning issues of The Law.

 

The Letter is the Milk

Yahuah spoke of how we would cherry pick Scriptures (I call that sound bite doctrine), take those sound bites out of context, sound bites here and there strung together to create a “doctrine” that only babies addicted to milk would be ignorant enough to accept.

Isaiah 28
9 “Who is it he is trying to teach? To whom is he explaining his message? To children weaned from their milk, to those just taken from the breast? 10 For it is: Do this, do that, a rule for this, a rule for that; a little here, a little there.”

Yahuah continues through the mouth of Isaiah to say that those “children not weaned from milk/letter”, who abuse His Torah, will get exactly that type of teaching. The very teaching we get today from our Christian Pulpits, who deny The Law and the Hebrew Roots teachers, who don’t understand the ‘intent’ of it:  A few Scriptures out of context tied together with a nice little feel good analogy from their personal life or examples of some personal experience that leaves us all “feeling good” when we leave.

13 So then, the word of Yahuah to them will become: Do this, do that, a rule for this, a rule for that (personal interpretations of the letter of The Law); a little here, a little there (sound bite implied doctrines)— so that as they go they will fall backward; they will be injured and snared and captured.

 

Spirit of Religion is the Abuse of His Righteousness

This is exactly what has happened to humanity at the mercy of “Religion”.  Modern preachers are most often time “Prophets for Profit” seeking to tickle our ears… so that we might give a little more money as they entertain us. They are motivational speakers; they are not true teachers.

We were warned of that too:

2 Timothy 4:3
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled (by sound bite implied doctrines), they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires (which are hostile toward The Law of Yahuah),

 

Matthew 23:28 - Weymouth New Testament
The same is true of you: outwardly you seem to the human eye to be good and honest men, but, within, you are full of insincerity and disregard of God's Law.

 

Romans 8:6-7

6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be Spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against Yahuah; for it is not subject to The Law of Yahuah, nor indeed can be.

 

Scripture is progressive, to be kept in context

We cannot take one or two verses, out of context, and assume we understand. Scripture is progressive, building upon itself from The Heavenly Scroll, to Genesis all the way through the Book of Revelation.

Sha’ul made this clear:

2 Timothy 3:16
All Scripture is inspired by Yahuah and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It (the Ruach) corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.
