Original Sin
by Rav Sha'ul

One of the reason given that Yahusha could not have been born to Joseph is the Catholic doctrine of Original Sin.  Which states that all men are born into sin, the sin of Adam.  So to say that Yahusha was born to Joseph would mean Yahusha was by birth a sinner.

This is a false doctrine and completely untrue.

Deut. 24:16, "The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers: every man shall be put to death for his own sin."

What we are born with, is a sin-prone flesh.  A flesh that as a result of sin will die.  We are born to die.  Not born with sin on our record.  We ARE NOT born being held to account for our father's sin... ie born being held accountable to YHWH for another's sin.  That is Catholic.

As a result of Adam's sin, this flesh we are born into dies.
Rom. 5:12, "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned"
The EFFECTS of sin on our genetic code leads eventually to the death of this sin-prone flesh.  At first, with Adam, the effects of sin on his very pure genetic code took literally hundreds of years to effect the death of the body. Over generations, the imbreeding of sinful flesh corrupted the genetic code of humanity to the point where the effects of sin on our genetic human bodies brings about death in an average of 80 years or so.

So through Adam, death reigns in our bodies even Yahusha's earthly body... he died too (albeit for our sin).  But ORIGINAL SIN doctrine states that we are born into and accountable to YHWH for the sin of our fathers back to Adam.

This is UNTRUE.

The words "Original Sin" do not exist in the Bible or Jewish writings.

It is DEATH that is passed on, not SIN!  What is passed on is a sin-proned flesh, which Yahusha too had.  That is the entire point of his overcoming temptation is that he too was trapped in a body that was prone to sin.  Yet, he sinned not!

The concept of "Original Sin" is a violation of the ordinances of YHWH:

2 Kings 14:6

"But the children of the murderers he slew not: according unto that which is written in the book of the law of Moses, wherein the LORD commanded, saying, The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, nor the children be put to death for the fathers; but every man shall be put to death for his own sin."

Ezek. 18:20

"The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him."

Ezek.33:20

"Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. O ye house of Israel, I will judge you every one after his ways."

Jer. 31:29-30

"In those days they shall say no more, The fathers have eaten a sour grape, and the children's teeth are set on edge. But every one shall die for his own iniquity: every man that eateth the sour grape, his teeth shall be set on edge."

The the Christopagan Church would not know this, however, after all the OLD testament is OLD and has been abolished.  Right?

I want do demonstrate that what I believe is not without tremendous merit.  The belief that Yahusha was born somehow outside of the curse of Adam which is that we are born into earthly vessels that die.

The Bible clearly contradicts such false teaching.  The Bible clearly teaches that the "life" of Yahusha (referring to him as the New or Second Adam) is the LIFE ETERNAL which Yahusha now lives as a result of resurrection.

Romans 1:3-4 NKJV
3 concerning His Son Yahusha the Messiah our Lord, who was born of the seed of David according to the flesh,
4 and declared to be the Son of God with power according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead.
Luke 20:36 NASB95
36 for they cannot even die anymore, because they are like angels, and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection.
Yahusha's "first body he received from Mary" clearly died.  His life eternal began upon his being declared the Son of YHWH upon resurrection and glorification into the Divine nature.  It is this resurrected life that we have hope.
1 Corinthians 15

14And if the Messiah be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.

Matthew 19:17

He (Yahusha) said to him, "Why do you call me good? No one is good but one, that is, Yahuah. But if you want to enter into life, Keep the Commandments."

Was Yahusha born "perfect"?  No.  He was born into an imperfect state and made perfect through a life on Earth:
Luke 2:40, 52 NKJV

40 And the Child (Yahusha) grew and became strong in spirit, filled with wisdom; and the grace (favor) of God was upon Him. ... 52 And Yahusha increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.

Yahusha GREW in wisdom, strength, stature, etc., just like John the Baptist (see Luke 1:80).  This shows that Yahusha was not born "perfect" but BECAME perfected like all other righteous men of Israel (Yet Yahusha was the most Anointed One).

Hebrews 1:4 NKJV

4 having become so much better than the angels, as He has by inheritance (upon resurrection) obtained a more excellent name than they.

Hebrews 5:8-9 NKJV

8 though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered. 9 And having been perfected, He became (through resurrection) the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him,
Hebrews 7:28 NKJV

28 For the law appoints as high priests men who have weakness, but the word of the oath, which came after the law, appoints the Son who has been perfected forever (post resurrection).

It should be quite obvious that Yahusha was not born perfect, but he submitted his personal will to the will and Ruach (Spirit) of YHVH.  Therefore, he BECAME perfected and thus qualified as the Messiah of Israel.

So, what DOES the Bible say concerning Yahusha's divine nature?

What was John's purpose?  It was to baptize the Messiah and MAKE HIS PATH's STRAIGHT entering into his ministry.  We already see clearly that Yahusha had grown in wisdom and knowledge of YHWH and that Yahusha had to LEARN obedience and be perfected (clearly implying previous imperfection)...  Now, the Word clearly says that John's role was to baptize the Messiah unto repentance and make his paths straight which is why Yahusha went to John prior to starting his ministry:

Matthew 3
In those days, John the Baptizer came, preaching in the wilderness of Judea, saying,
2 "Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!"
*3 For this is he who was spoken of by Isaiah the prophet, saying, "The voice of one crying in the wilderness, make ready the way of the Lord (second in command), make his (Messiah's) paths straight." (good, upright and forthwith)...
*13 Then Yahusha (Messiah) came from Galilee to the Jordan to John, to be
baptized by him (unto Repentance of Sin; in order to make His paths straight. John did not have the authority to baptize for any other purpose. So why would Yahusha need baptism?).

?

Luke 3:21-23 (see Matthew 3:13 above)
21 Now it happened, when all the people were baptized, that, Yahusha also having been baptized (unto the repentance of sin to make his paths straight as prophesied by Isaiah), and praying (to Yahuah, the ONE true God), the sky was opened,
22 and the Holy Spirit descended in a bodily form, as a dove, on him, and a voice came out of the sky, saying "You are my beloved Son. In you I am well pleased." (Spiritual rebirth follows physical repentance of sin (selfishness))
23 Yahusha himself, when he began to teach, was about thirty years old, being the son of Joseph, the son of Heli,

Now the clear picture has emerged strickly taken from scripture alone... NOT human tradition or doctrine.  Yahusha, born human, grew in wisdom and knowledge of YHWH, LEARNED obedience to YHWH, and became over time perfected as a result.  THEN went to John to be baptized for the remission of sin to set his paths straight (Isaiah) THEN he began his ministry.  No doubt by the time he began his ministry as the Messiah... he was PERFECT.

Now concerning Yahusha's divine nature, when was that applied to him?  At birth, Spiritual Rebirth, or Resurrection?

Romans 5 (Paul speaking concerning Yahusha's POST RESURRECTION life, this entire chapter is in context referring to post resurrection ETERNAL LIFE)

10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled (by Yahusha's death), we shall be saved by his life (after death through resurrection).
17 For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Yahusha the Messiah.
18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came (death, including Yahusha) upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life (eternal, post resurrection see vs 21).
19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous (upon resurrection vs 21).
20 Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:
21 That as
sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Yahusha the Messiah our Lord.

Hebrews 7 (Paul clearly teaching that as a RESULT of the resurrection, Yahusha was MADE a better priest)

16 Who is made (not born into through Mary), not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life (ie RESURRECTION).
17 For he testifieth, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.
.
22 By so much was Yahusha made a surety of a better testament.
23 And they truly were many priests, because they were not suffered to continue by reason of death (so what made Yahusha a better statement?):
24 But this man, because he continueth ever (as a result of RESURRECTION), hath an unchangeable priesthood.

Now, Paul declares that in Yahusha dwells the fullness of diety.  But WHEN?  Upon his human birth? NOOOOOO.  Upon his RESURRECTION!

Colossians 2
For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. (speaking post resurrection in context)
10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of the Messiah:
12
Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
15 And
having spoiled principalities and powers,
he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it (not at human birth, at the RESURRECTION)

Yes, YHWH declared it was the day of resurrection that Yahusha was made fully divine as His Son.  And Paul centers our entire faith on the resurrection.  Our new life is in His ETERNAL LIFE.  Yahusha's embodiment of deity was POST RESURRECTION:

1 Corinthians 15

14And if the Messiah be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.
