The true name of The Messiah is Yahusha
by Rav Sha'ul

The Messiah's name is Theophanous, a literal contracted form of a sentence name that gives glory to Yahuah

One of the first things we should learn in our search for the true Messiah is His Name. The importance of knowing this man's name cannot be overstated. Names were and are very important to the Hebrew people, and their meanings are of great significance, not only to individuals, but also to entire families.

The name Jesus is an invention of man which in no way carries the meaning of the true Name of this Man mentioned in the New Testament (we'll look at this name later in this chapter). The simple fact (which is easily proven from authoritative sources) is that this man spoken of in Scripture was born a Hebrew and he had a Hebrew name not a Greek name such as Jesus. There is no such name as Jesus in the Hebrew language.

Reading from The Encyclopedia Judaica, we find that the supposed name Jesus is actually the common Greek form of the Hebrew name Joshua which is the Hellenized uninspired transliteration of Yahusha into English.

The Encyclopedia Judaica, Volume 10, page 10

JESUS(d. 30 c.e.), whom Christianity sees as its founder and object of faith, was a Jew who lived toward the end of the Second Commonwealth period.

THE NAME, BIRTH, AND DEATH DATE OF JESUS. Jesus is the common Greek form of the Hebrew name Joshua (in Heb. Yahusha). Jesus' father, Joseph, his mother, Mary (in Heb. Miriam), and his brothers James (in Heb. Yaaqob), Joses (Yahseph), Judah, and Simon (Mark 6:3) likewise bore very popular Hebrew names.

The Encyclopedia Judaica gives us additional information concerning the Hebrew spelling of יהושע or YAH-SHUA, which is yod-heh-waw-shin-ayin or literally YAH-SHAU with the proper vowel points Hellenized into English as Joshua to again remove the name of Yah from the name.

The Encyclopedia Judaica,Volume 12, page 805

This source also points out to us that this Name, correctly pronounced Yahusha, is a compound name constructed with the Tetragrammaton, which is the Name: Yahuah, יהוה. The Name Yahusha follows the common practice among the true worshippers of Yahuah (who did not follow Jewish superstition and remove the name of the Creator from the name), in forming and using compound names which brought glory to Yahuah's Name.  The Jewish Encyclopedia tells us this about compound names which glorify Yahuah:

The Jewish Encyclopedia, Volume 9, page 153

A distinctive characteristic of Bible onomatology is the frequency of composite names, which form at times even complete sentences, as in the case of Isaiah's son Shear-jashub (="the remnant shall return"). In the majority of cases these composite names are theophorous, referring to, or actually mentioning...the name of Yahuah using the shortened poetic form YAH.

The Interpreter's Dictionary, Volume 3, page 505, tells us:

There is an increasing tendency, especially in the 7th Century b.c. to use compound names which state a fact or express a wish... The most numerous are names compounded with 'YAH'... which number over 150 names in the Bible and are almost entirely personal or family names.

This common practice to construct sentence names that convey an expression giving glory to Yahuah in Hebrew can be found in many names throughout scripture. The names in our modern translations were "Hellenized" to remove all Hebrew nature from them and remove the Glory given to Yahuah as they intended. This process of Hellinezation was brought about due to the wars between Rome and The Jews and the hatred for the Jews as a result. The new religion formed in Rome needed to present a "new savoir" that could be accepted by Greeks and a "new gospel" that eliminated all Jewishness from it.

The names in our English Bibles are meaningless removing the “compound” name structures found in Hebrew as well as the very meaning of their names which give Glory to Yahuah:

·       Joshua – should be Yahusha meaning “Yahuah is Salvation”

·       Samuel – should be Shemuyl meaning “Heard of Yahuah”

·       Daniel - should be Daniyl meaning “Yahuah is my judge”

·       Elijah– should be Eliyyahu meaning “my God is Yahuah”

·       Isaiah– should be Yesha’Yahu meaning “Yahuah is salvation”

·       Hosea – should be Hosheyah meaning “Yahuah saves”

·       Joel – should be Yahyl meaning “Yahuah is our strength”

·       Amos – should be Amosyah meaning “Corroborated by Yahuah”

·       Obadiah – should be Obeadyah meaning “Worshipper of Yahuah”

·       Jonah – should be Yahnah meaning “Ornament of Yahuah”

·       Micah – should be Micahyah meaning “Who is like Yahuah”

·       Nahum – should be Nachumyah meaning “Consolation of Yahuah”

·       Zephaniah – should be Zephanyah meaning “Protected by Yahuah”

·       Haggai – should be Chagyah meaning “Feast of Yahuah”

·       Zechariah – should be Zecharyah meaning “Remembrance of Yahuah”

·       Malachi – should be Malakyah meaning “Messenger of Yahuah”

·       Matthew – should be Mattithyah meaning “Gift of Yahuah”

·       John – should be Yahchanan meaning “Yahuah is merciful”

·       Paul – should be Sha’ul meaning “asked of Yahuah”

·       Jesus – should be Yahusha meaning “Yahuah is salvation”

The Name Yahusha (Heb יהושע) is just such a contracted compound sentence Name. It is a combination of Yahuah's Name into a contracted personal name יהו (YAH: yod-heh vav) and SHUA שע (shin-ayin), which means Yahuah is our savior.

The Hebrew-English Lexicon of the Old Testament tells us that the name Yahusha means Yahuah is salvation. We see below that the original form of the name is יהושע Yahusha but was “later” shortened to ישוע which is Yeshua in order to remove Yahuah’s name:

The Hebrew-English Lexicon of the Old Testament, by Brown, Driver, and Briggs, page 221

The Hebraic Tongue Restored gives us this information concerning the Hebrew word, shua. We find that this word comes from the word yasha:

The Hebraic Tongue Restored, by Fabre d'Olivet, page 462

Gesenius' Hebrew-Chaldee Lexicon To The Old Testament tells us that yasha implies to be freed from danger and distress:

Gesenius' Hebrew-Chaldee Lexicon To The Old Testament, page 811

The Hebrew-English Lexicon of the Old Testament, by Brown, Driver, and Briggs, page 447, tells us about the word yasha and shua specifically express the idea "Salvation is from Yahuah"

Thus we have יהושע (yod-heh-waw-shin-ayin). This name is correctly pronounced YAH-SHU-A, since the letter waw (vav) in this compound is silent, just as The Hebraic Tongue Restored tells us.

Hebraic Tongue Restored, by Fabre d'Olivet, pages 112-113

Conjunctive or Convertible Article.--This article in uniting nouns, causes the movement of nothingness, of which the character W becomes the sign, as we have seen: in making actions pass from one time to another, it exercises upon them the convertible faculty of which this same character is the universal emblem. Its conjunctive movement can be rendered by: and, also, thus, then, afterward, that, etc. But its convertible movement is not expressible in our tongue and I do not know of any in which it can be expressed. In order to perceive it one must feel the Hebraic genius.
